Gagetown, Michigan

Joseph Gage built a mill and a store on his land here in 1869 and the town was named after its first settler.

The Octagon Barn is located one mile northeast of Gagetown and one mile north on Richie Road. It was built in 1923-24 for James and Cora Purdy by local builders George and James Munro. The barn is approximately 70 feet or 4 stories tall. There are eight walls enclosing a space of 8,600 square feet. A 29 foot loft on six of the eight sides provides an additional 6,200 feet of storage space.

Gagetown is located on the northern border of Tuscola County, a few miles northeast of Cass City.
