Grayling, Michigan

Welcome to Grayling. There are so many interesting places and so many things to do, it's hard to begin.
Grayling is the starting point of the annual Au Sable River Run, a non-stop canoe race that challenges its participants all the way to the waters of Lake Huron. It is also the historical home of the great Chief Shoppenagon, who served in various capacities during the city's early years. And then there's Camp Grayling, home of the largest National Guard base in Michigan and the north-central region of the US: Look up in the sky and you're likely to see a chopper or jet on patrol during the summer months.
Grayling is also just a few miles from the Hartwick Pines State Park, where you can see what is left of the oldest trees in Michigan, some dating back to the early 1700's. There's also city park right on the Au Sable - just a short walk from the railroad depot & museum. And there's still a lot more ... Grayling makes an ideal central location to begin if you want to experience the many recreational options of Northern Michigan. Come stay with us and see for yourself!
