Belleville is 1.5 square miles and is located in Wayne County. Belleville was declared a village in 1905 and as a city in 1946.

Some of the attractions of Belleville are: Belleville Lake, Fred C. Fischer Library, Victory Park, Horizon Scenic Park, and the Statue of LaSalle in Victory Park. There is also shopping during the Strawberry Festival every June for three days.

Belleville is close the University of Michigan and to Eastern Michigan University. There is also community colleges near by.
