Petoskey, Michigan

Petoskey was first named Porters Village when the first permanent white settlers came to the area in 1865. As the community developed, and the railroad came through, the present name was established on December 5, 1873, and incorporated as a village in 1879. In 1896 Petoskey became a city and today it is experiencing some of the fastest growth in the state.

Traversed by US31, and located on the Little Traverse Bay, the city is built on a rolling hillside which adds to the beauty of the area and also many spectacular sunsets viewed from several parks within the city.
